Davan Skelhorn

Davan was born and raised and currently resides in Nova Scotia, Canada.  As a youth he travelled throughout Canada (mostly hitch-hiking), meeting many strange and wonderful people.  He is a naturalist, gardener, and landscaper by trade and is uncompromising in his sustainable design and promotion of biodiversity.  As a lover of diversity Davan was naturally drawn to Star Trek and its “infinite diversity in infinite combinations”.  Davan is also a longtime player and occasional writer of music, and along with his most frequent musical partner Dave Puxley, formed “Plain, Simple Tailors” a musical duo (sometimes trio) with a Star Trek bent.  As many jams descended into discussion of Star Trek, Davan and Dave started the audio podcast “Locutors of Trek” in 2020 which is a thematic discussion based show shone through the lens of Star Trek, which also features their music and comedic talents.

After being bitten by the Podcast Bug, Davan joined forces with Andrè Myette of the “Graphic Histories” podcast for “X-Rated: The X-Men Animated Review Show”, in which they review each episode of the 1990’s “X-Men Animated Series” and interview the actors, producers, writers, and artists who made the show!

Not long after, Davan reunited with his long lost cousins Dave and Jeff Mader of “Live Long and Podcast”, another Star Trek podcast, as well as the “Super Mader Brothers” and “Trivial Debates” podcasts.  It only seemed “logical” to United our disparate podcast empires and the “United Federation of Podcasts” was born. Enjoy.
